Opening of the mini-LAB for the import-substitution of wheat with local cereals

The Director General of the Operational Plan Monitoring Office Emerging Senegal – BOS Me El Ousseyni KANE chaired, this Monday, March 13, 2023, the opening of the work of the Intensive Workshop for structuring the strategy of import substitution of wheat with local cereals (Mini Lab), in the presence of representatives of the ministries involved, of the Federation National Association of Bakers of Senegal (FNBS), millers, the public and private sector, but also research centers and institutes.

The objective is to create a co-construction framework bringing together all the players in the ecosystem in order to bring together all the current initiatives and result in the production of a consensual roadmap for the operationalization of the wheat import substitution strategy.

The structuring work is carried out by the BOS in conjunction with the ministries in charge of the Economy, Trade and Agriculture and with the support of the African Development Bank Group through the Institutional Support Project for Resource Mobilization and Investment Attractiveness (PAIMRAI).
