A meeting for discussion and sharing on the prospect of the upcoming launch of work to structure the wheat import substitution strategy

In view of the upcoming launch of structuring work on the Wheat Import Substitution Strategy, the Operational Office for Monitoring the Emerging Senegal Plan – BOS organized in its premises, Tuesday October 25, 2022, a meeting for exchange and sharing on this important initiative in the presence of all the stakeholders involved (industrialists, bakers, producers, development partners, state actors, etc.).
The aim of this approach is to create a consultation framework bringing together all the players in the ecosystem in order to bring together all the initiatives in progress and to arrive at a single plan for operationalizing the import-substitution strategy of the wheat in Senegal.
As a reminder, the BOS in collaboration with the Ministry of Economy, Planning and Cooperation and with the support of the African Development Bank through the Institutional Support Project for Resource Mobilization and Attractiveness of Investissements (PAIMRAI), carried out a study at the beginning of the year on the import substitution strategy in Senegal. This work made it possible to identify the top 10 imported products (including wheat) that could be subject to substitution through the implementation of this strategy.
