Micro-tourism sector plan
Description
The “Micro-tourism development sector plan” makes it possible to use tourism as a vector of social and territorial development through the promotion and creation of tourism micro-enterprises.
Methods of implementation
The institutional anchoring of the project is at the level of the Ministry of Tourism and Leisure. Operational implementation is ensured by public and private structures. Public intervention is mainly carried out by the Ministry in charge of tourism.
The operational objective of the project is:
- To create four micro-tourism incubators in Senegal;
- To ensure the training of 750 micro-entrepreneurs.
Major Achievements:
- Receipt of files from the first 140 future tourism micro-entrepreneurs
- Selection of 20 project leaders for the Thiès incubator
Outlook 2023:
- Finalization of the Saint Louis incubator
- Training of 50 micro-entrepreneurs including 25 in Ziguinchor and 25 in Thiès
- Finalization of texts for the establishment of the micro-tourism impulse fund
