Description

This project aims to provide regulatory oversight and security for gold panning areas by:

• The definition of areas dedicated to traditional gold panning
• The distribution of gold prospecting cards
• The deployment of a special brigade to strengthen security in the Kédougou area
• Sanctions against gold miners operating outside dedicated zones
• The promotion of artisanal mines following three aspects: regulation/training/infrastructure

This project should have an impact on the development of the gold sector in the Kédougou region through a transfer of wealth to the landlocked populations of eastern Senegal and the formalization of 5 to 000 gold miners by 10.
